Recipe #3 Basic Scrambled Eggs

It is the epitome of the easy breakfast for one, the most stereotypical of all small dishes. Any cooking class will teach you this recipe the first couple days of class. This recipe is the scrambled egg. While there are many ways to make an egg, my favorite happens to be the scrambled egg. Below is the recipe for said dish (at least how I make it):

(Prep Time: 5 minutes      Cook Time: 5 minutes       Makes: 2 eggs)

Ingredients:
  • 2 eggs
  • Spices of your choice (Italian, Oregano, Thyme, etc)
  •  1/2 Tbsp of Butter or Margarine, partially melted
Tools:
  • 1 small frying pan
  • 1 medium wooden spoon
  • small bowl
  • fork
  • butter knife
Directions:
  1.  Crack both eggs into small bowl (avoid dropping in egg shell, silly) and whisk with fork gently but thoroughly
  2.  Shake seasoning into eggs and stir again
  3.  Spoon your butter into the frying pan and set the heat to medium, medium-high heat
  4. Allow butter to come to a sizzle, then pour your egg mix into the pan (make sure its come to a sizzle or you will have extremely buttery eggs)
  5. Turn your flame down to medium heat immediately after
  6.  Allow your eggs to cook on one side until the eggs begins to separate from the pan and sizzle
  7. Using your spoon (and a little technique), flip the egg over onto the other side (a wider spoon might help)
  8. Allow this side to cook fully (until the egg has fully solidified) and turn off pan
  9. Allow egg's heat to cool down and serve!

Tips:
  • Seasoning should not be abused! Too much seasoning will dry out or over-flavor a mild dish like this, but no seasoning might leave you with a bland egg.
  • If the spoon doesn't work, a Spatula might be more in order
  • If the butter has completely sizzled away, you will be left with burnt-on egg, remember that the butter is there to prevent sticking (if it's all gone, it will stick, simple as that)
  • Served alongside grilled meat, cheese, toast, or potatoes are always a good choice to enhance the flavor of your dish.
Just An Idea:
  • Make an omelette (refer to my Omelette recipe from a week ago :D )
  • Make a Sandwich or Breakwich...a Breakfastwich..You get the point..
  • Serve with something spicy such as salsa or hot sausages!
